Cabuyao, Laguna is a first-class city. It used to be the Philippines’ richest municipality because of the industrial estates there. Nestlé Philippines, San Miguel Corporation, Tanduay Distillers, Inc., and Procter & Gamble Philippines are just some of the multinational companies that operate in the city and provide livelihood to the locals. Composed of 18 barangays, it officially became a city on August 4, 2012. These barangays – from Banay-Banay to Marinig, Pulo, and Mamatid – come together every 16th of January to celebrate its founding anniversary. Floats line the streets for the annual float parade followed by a street dancing competition; each barangay is required to partake in the festivities. Other Cabuyao, Laguna festivals include Santo Niño de Cabuyao Festival that involves a parade of Sto. Niños and Batingaw Festival to commemorate the city’s most crucial emblem, Kampanang Ginto (golden bell). One of the most essential Cabuyao City events, the festival usually starts with the simultaneous ringing of church bells. The Cabuyeños believe that the practice brings a good agricultural harvest. Trade fair exhibits and the Mutya and Lakan ng Cabuyao were held during the Batingaw Festival at the plaza. One of the favorite places of interest in Cabuyao, Laguna is the Sta. Elena Fun Farm. It’s a park for the kids and the kids at heart, with zip lining, fishing, and boating areas. Another one is the Marcos Twin Mansion, a historical landmark located in Brgy. Casile.
